The castles are made solely out of icicles, and are currently growing 20 tons a night through the end of February. They are only going to get better and better.

What: Midway Ice Castles is a unique walk-through exhibit featuring ice castles made solely out of icicles with no supporting substructure. The first Ice Castles event was held last year at Zermatt Resort, where more than 50,000 guests visited the spectacle. Brent Christensen, the artist behind Midway Ice Castles, plans to build ice castles reaching 40 feet in height for this year's exhibit.
When: Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, through Monday, Feb. 28. Open Monday through Saturday 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
